South Windsor, Conn. December 11, 2024 — TicketNetwork employees got into the holiday spirit this week, welcoming members of the Marine Corps Reserves for breakfast and the collection of hundreds of toys for the Toys for Tots program on Tuesday.
Staff members at the ticket resale software company brought new, unwrapped toys to donate to local families in need throughout the first half of December. Combined with a company donation, TicketNetwork provided more than $5,000 worth of toys to the program. Members of the Plainville, Connecticut-based Marine Corps Reserve unit visited the company headquarters building to pick up the donation, as well as enjoying a meal in the company cafeteria.
“It’s always an honor to be able to share with our community as both individuals who work at here and as a company through participation in programs like Toys for Tots,” says TicketNetwork Vice President of Strategy Kevin Lemke, who shared the breakfast table with the young men of the Marine reserve despite his military service having come with the United States Army.
“Our staff always steps up when it comes to opportunities like the Toys for Tots program,” Lemke says. “It’s great to play even a small part in making the holidays a little brighter for kids and families in need.”
The Marine Toys for Tots program was founded in 1947 by Marine reservist Major Bill Hendricks. The nation-wide program is driven by Marines, sailors, and their families who volunteer to collect, sort, and deliver gifts to families in need across the United States.
The local Toys for Tots campaign saw more than 74,000 toys distributed to 53,334 children during the 2023 holiday season, according to its website.
